Supporting Students & Teachers in Lahaina
During the Native Hawaiian Advancement Convention held on Maui in November 2023, we learned about how education in west Maui has been affected by the fires. Our organization is working to support the teachers and children of Lahaina.
Involvement at Community Hubs
Since late August /early September 2023, we have been active at the various community resource hubs that were set up in different parks and public community centers across Maui.
The Legal Hub Project
In early September 2023, our organization developed a new system for the delivery of pro bono legal services that organizes Hawaiʻi volunteer lawyers by legal specialty.
Monthly Informational Sessions at Lahaina Fire Station
On September 8, 2023, we held its first informational session at the Lahaina Fire Station. We brought in insurance specialists to work with the 17 firefighters (serving Lahaina and Napili) who lost their homes.
