Involvement at Community Hubs

Since late August /early September 2023, we have been active at the various community resource hubs that were set up in different parks and public community centers across Maui, including the Kako'o Maui Resource Hub that is located in the Maui mall and the Napilli Noho hub, which is located in Napili park. The community resource hubs are comfortable environments for locals and members of the immigrant community who do not feel safe visiting county government facilities, such as the Lahaina Civic Center.

We visit both of these locations several times each month, to provide individuals attending with free legal information, and when possible, referrals to Hawaii licensed attorneys specializing within specific areas. These hubs have our fliers and posters with our intake information allowing individuals to easily request assistance from our team. We attend monthly all legal services zoom meetings to share on the ground information and to coordinate our outreach efforts. Through this collaboration, we are in the process of receiving 8 laptops of our own that we plan on setting up at several community hubs on Maui, with the goal of being able to expand the reach of our legal services and connect with a greater number of impacted individuals.
