A Community Guide to Legislative Advocacy

This educational presentation introduces community members to the fundamentals of legislative advocacy and how to meaningfully engage in the lawmaking process. We share about what legislative advocacy is, why it matters, and the different ways individuals and communities can influence policy—such as navigating the Legislature website, tracking bills, submitting testimony, and participating in hearings. The presentation focuses on practical pathways to action and empowers community members to use their voices, experiences, and collective power to advocate for issues that they care about.
