Disasters are not isolated events in Hawaiʻi. As communities across the state continue to experience the impacts of wildfires, storms, hurricanes, flooding, and other climate-related events, it is clear that disaster preparedness, response, and recovery will remain an ongoing challenge for years to come.
While our work is grounded in supporting individuals and families affected by disasters, we also recognize that lasting recovery depends on equitable and effective policies. The experiences of disaster-affected communities offer valuable insight into what is working, where gaps exist, and how systems can better support recovery and resilience.
Ways we can partner
We are interested in collaborating with community organizations, government agencies, advocates, researchers, and other partners to strengthen disaster policy in Hawaiʻi. We believe that meaningful solutions are developed through partnership, community engagement, and a shared commitment to effective recovery systems.
